Greetings Community,

Below please find the monthly highlights for October.

Technology

Taxa Nodes:

  • Enabled node validity APIs for network explorer’s data-feed and mining protocol on Taxa Nodes, which allow fast remote attestation & verifications process to confirm whether or not a node has a legit environment to run the Taxa Node services;
  • Integrated the node modules taxa_server, taxa_p2p, taxa_api and pyxa into a standalone Taxa daemon.

Taxa Python SDK:

  • Updated the “request by peer_cert” method that allows users to craft requests with a counter party’s public key. (This method now takes a more concise sha256 hash instead of the full cert. The taxa.authorize_only(certs) in tServices will be updated accordingly.)

Taxa Web3 SDK:

  • Added support for p2p in “taxa://” protocol handler;
  • Added request by peer_cert support for the “taxa://” protocol handler script;
  • Conducted a final round of tests before release.

Mainnet Explorer:

  • Added additional backend scripts for network monitoring.

Ecosystem

Taxa Developer Grant Program:

We are pleased to introduce the Taxa Developer Grant Program. The goal of the Program is to grow the Taxa ecosystem, foster a dynamic Taxa developer community, and encourage creative applications built with the Taxa platform.

The Program consists of multiple phases so as to help developers to kick start their development journey with Taxa, and by accomplishing the challenges of each phase developers shall earn their chances to receive the award granted by Taxa.

Phase I aims at helping developers kick start with the first step of developing with Taxa: set up the development environment, and communicate with tServices. Each winner will receive 7,000 TXT, until the total award pool of Phase I is all consumed.
